Reilly & I were wandering around Scottsdale getting our favorite coffee [Cartel] & favorite eats [Chop Shop] & we found a rad old book store full of tons of really old editions with the coolest covers you’ve ever seen. And then.. I found it…
Never did I think I would find a book that was ›so me‹ I would have thought that I wrote it.
As it turns out, Cactus & Pine is just that. Written by the Arizona adventurer & explorer Sharlot M. Hall. [i.e. my new personal hero] Born in 1870 she was first lady to hold office in the Arizona Territory government & her personal collection of photographs and artifacts served as the starting collection for a history museum which bears her name. Can’t wait to go to Prescott & see all the she was up to!
Looks like we have a lot in common, I think we would have been great friends.
This book was found in Old Town Scottsdale, Arizona & photographed in my front yard in Sedona, Arizona [ N 33° 29′ 49.8368″ +W 111° 55′ 36.2719″
››› BIG exciting NEWs
My favorite little juice shop in Sedona [See & read all about Local Juicery ›here‹] is offering amazing juice cleanses [plus a big discount!] for brides [&grooms]! When I got married Reilly & I were extra extra dedicated to looking and feeling our best everyday & I wish this was around, we totally would have done it!
I absolutely love to have this juice everyday & could not recommend it more! Today I myself went to Local not once but twice & had the Watermelon Crush juice [full of fresh mint!], a Basic [nuts & cinnamon and things] & a raw Kale Caesar + half of Reilly’s freaking out of this world raw cheesecake. Killer day!
I will add in retrospect that after our wedding not only were we SUPER impressed with how rockinly glowing we looked in our wedding photos but being at our pinnacle of health helped us enjoy our honeymoon that much more. We took a three week road trip through the entire Pacific Northwest & up into Canada & we felt SO amazing the entire time.

BIO: Summer opened Local to help move people toward a plant-based diet in the most delicious way possible! Working in San Fransisco as a makeup artist and studying music business took a tole on Summer health. Late nights, cocktail parties and music events packed on the pounds and monopolized her time. Finally she realized her body and soul needed a shift, needed some true connection. Summer started her journey to optimal health. By shifting to a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and juice, summer felt alive again. This prompted her to start education and teaching the art of raw food and plant-centric eating. Summer is a mama to Henry, a business owner, blogger, author and a students of life.

If you are here in Sedona you simply must pay Local Juicery a visit. You will See & feel the radiance for the rest of the day!
Summer is a total #Girlboss in the best kind of way. Her juices and smoothies are THE best [seriously]. It makes the biggest difference when the person preparing your food is not only an expert but also an enthusiastic chef at heart. [& she is the most kindhearted girl & I am so happy she opened up shop!]
During it all, I was so so lucky to be able to taste everything we were shooting and I’m officially hooked! This will defintiely be a regular part of my life. Reilly & I even bought a little juicer for our house when we can’t make it out. I already feel so much more hydrated and cleansed. That awesome pure health feeling that shines & shines.

I really adore when a couple’s heart shows through. That is definitely what keeps me going and keeps me editing until the wee hours of the morn. Pushing further & reaching for ART ART ART. When I feel like I can catch a real & authentic moment in someone’s ›LOVE STORY‹. Isn’t is just SO COOL that we can live any kind of story we want & we can capture a moment in that story forever?! I am currently living the love story of my dreams & I am so blessed to make art of other people’s stories.
Andrew & Rachel have been together for 10 years and there is something very real about people who have spent that much time together.
›››They are one of those steadfast & wholehearted couples.‹‹‹
I believe the greatest journey one can embark on is that of marriage, so to see two people who really get it elicits such an inspiring calmness. It was such a pleasant experience and the Sedona rocks were the most incredible shade of bright fiery orange-red. As I was culling and editing their film I found myself wanting to reaching out and feel this color. To me it felt like putting my hand in perfectly warm melting stone, & much like love it felt like home.
